L'Oreal India Pvt. Ltd. plans to make acquisitions. Jean-Christophe Letellier, Managing Director of L'Oreal India, said, “We are not closed to the option of acquisitions in this area, but if there are other avenues (such as partnerships) by which we can grow our footprint, we will not rule that out either. At a broad level, acquisitions in the consumer products and luxury space are two areas where we would be interested in making acquisitions in the future.”

L'Oreal announced that it appointed Jean-Christophe Letellier as its managing director in India, replacing Pierre-Yves Arzel. Prior to this appointment, Letellier was the company's general manager for consumer products division for India and South East Asia. Ltd. has registered a clinical trial with the Clinical Trial Registry - India for study of effectiveness of a cream in lightening the skin and reducing dark spots in healthy Indian female volunteers having dark spots and dull skin, for 8 weeks. The research institution has registered for the 1 month and 26 days trial retrospectively on April 15, 2013. The Interventional trial will determine evaluation of the color of a selected dark spot and its, adjacent spotless area + contrast spot/spotless area, evaluation of pores visibility at T0-T4 ws, T8 ws, evaluation of the pigmentary homogeneity, evaluation of the vascular homogeneity, evaluation of skin tone using standard shade card developed, chromameter evaluation of the color of a selected dark spot and its adjacent spotless area and contrast, digital Photography using Visia-CR at T0, T4 weekss, T8 weeks, as its primary outcome. The trial does not require regulatory clearance from the Drug Controller General of India. The trial's principal investigator is Dr. Sah Gaurang Krishna, Principal Investigator at CIDP Biotech India Pvt Ltd. The recruitment for the trial for a sample of 110 participants from India is completed.
