PacketVideo Releases Twonky 7.3 to Provide Better Rich Media Experiences

PacketVideo announced its Twonky 7.3 release. Twonky is a technology platform for media connectedness. This latest version of Twonky has been updated for the current increasingly multi-user, multi-device connected home. It also leverages the growing trend of consumers using mobile devices to access and control their media across a variety of devices, regardless of technology, form factor or brand. Twonky introduced custom user personas for all kinds of media. This valuable feature lets individual household members create and maintain their own media profiles across a variety of devices. The 7.3 update also includes support for a broader range of emerging technologies while maintaining effective interoperability with older devices. In addition, a more robust SDK makes it easy to upgrade existing applications to accommodate new media capabilities. The new features and longstanding capabilities in version 7.3 further solidify Twonky's position as the preferred choice of CSP and CE companies to incorporate media into their consumer-facing media applications and services. These include: Allows Individual Household Members to Have a Custom Profile Each household member sees individual content view, access permissions, and device preferences. Twonky offers support for Roku, Apple TV, and DLNA devices; Twonky's SDK Enhancements Enable CSP and CE Companies to Upgrade Their Product and Service Media Applications To align with the growing trend of consumers using their mobile device as the preferred device to access media, CSP and CE companies can create or upgrade the media capabilities of existing applications through Twonky's SDK and Media API to create a rich media use case for the CSP and CE customer; and Proven Knowledge, Expertise, and Flexibility No in-house expertise is necessary to use Twonky's proven and reliable technology.
