Ferrero S.p.A. is to put into commission its $294 million confectionery plant in Vladimir region by the end of the year 2009. The factory in the region's Sobinka district is reportedly to create 1,500 new jobs. The plant's projected annual capacity is 25,000 tons of products.

Ferrero S.p.A. reported earnings results for the year ended August 31, 2008. The company recorded a 5% rise in turnover, from EUR 2.156 billion to EUR 2.263 billion, while net profit rose 11.8% to EUR 89.1 million. The company's board confirmed the exit of Antonio Vanoli from the post of CEO in order to pursue other professional interests, following two years in the role. He is succeeded by the COO Gino Lugli. The appointment reportedly reveals the company's desire to continue to promote its existing product base, as well as to invest in marketing and research and design.
