Bell Canada to Open New Customer Service Centre in Jonquière

Bell Canada, through its Nordia subsidiary, announced that it will soon open a new customer service centre in Jonquière that will serve its customers and create more than 450 new jobs in the Saguenay region. Scheduled to open in the spring of 2014, Nordia's new Jonquière centre will be operating 7 days a week. Once fully operational, the centre is expected to contribute approximately $16 million to the local economy each year. The company contributes about $5 billion a year to the Québec economy, including its investment of $1 billion to build out its broadband fibre and mobile LTE networks as it works to continue to deliver the most advanced TV, Internet and wireless services available.

Bell Canada, Inc. reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the third quarter of 2013. For the quarter, the company reported operating revenues were CAD 4,524 million against CAD 4,393 million a year ago. EBITDA was CAD 1,739 million against CAD 1,688 million a year ago. Bell EBITDA increased 3.0%, driven by 26.8% growth at Bell Media and 11.6% growth in Wireless EBITDA.
The company reconfirmed earnings guidance for the year 2013. The company expects revenue growth will be in the range of 2% to 4%. EBITDA growth will be in the range of 3% to 5%.
