Audible Magic and RGB Networks Announce Dynamic Ad Insertion for TV Broadcast Streams
Sep 3 14
Audible Magic and RGB Networks announced the companies are working together to enable cable and satellite broadcast network operators to replace ads embedded in broadcast streams when those streams originally lack advertising markers. The solution is particularly applicable outside the US, where ad markers such as SCTE-35 cues are often not included in broadcast content. Audible Magic will demonstrate the solution September 12-16 at the IBC2014 Show in Amsterdam, RAI Hall 14, stand number 14.K03. Audible Magic offers a hardware appliance that monitors incoming broadcast streams and applies its patented content fingerprint-matching technique to identify advertising content against a hosted database of all ads appearing in the network. When ad content is detected in the broadcast stream, Audible Magic's Ad Detection Appliance signals RGB Networks' ad-marking device that then injects SCTE-35 cues, with splice-frame accuracy, into the transcoded stream. Ad insertion equipment that responds to SCTE-35 cues can then be utilized downstream to enable ad replacement that is invisible to the viewer yet cost-effective to implement. Audible Magic's ad detection can be applied to live linear broadcasts or to video on demand, cloud DVR or personal DVR applications. The combined Audible Magic-RGB Networks solution works for both QAM or IPTV distribution networks.
Audible Magic Provides Automatic Content Recognition to Intel Integrated Native Developer Experience
Feb 24 14
Audible Magic announced that the Intel(R) INDE (Integrated Native Developer Experience) Media Pack for Android, will utilize Audible Magic's ACR software development kit to deliver new compelling rich multimedia experiences. Additionally, Audible Music announced that it has been selected to the Intel(R) Software Premier Elite Partner program. Intel announced the upcoming availability of Intel INDE at Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona. Designed to increase productivity throughout the development chain, Intel INDE provides a range of components that enable developers to create, compile, debug, analyze and ship apps on Android(TM) and Windows(R) platforms. The Intel INDE Media Pack for Android coupled with Audible Magic ACR technology empowers developers to write apps that can identify or synchronize with audio or video content. When software recognizes audio or video content either streamed to the Android device or picked up by the device's microphone, the app can then trigger useful functions, such as presenting the user with additional information about the content that is playing or synchronizing app functions with media playing from a separate device.
Audible Magic Corporation Launches Video Fingerprint ACR Technology
Jun 24 13
Audible Magic Corporation introduced a new, video fingerprint-based ACR technology, called SmartID Video With over a decade of ACR experience, this new technology takes full advantage of the company's existing investments with its SmartID audio fingerprint technology, including inventions embodied in a number of its awarded patents. The new video fingerprint technology was designed to leverage the existing technological and operational infrastructure Audible Magic has in place. It integrates seamlessly with the company's current SmartID SDK/API enabling developers to easily use either its video or audio fingerprint technology, either individually or in a combined fashion. Because it also takes advantage of much of the same architecture as the company's audio fingerprinting technology, the new video fingerprint technology gains the immediate benefits of the full operational scalability Audible Magic has in place today, which currently supports millions of searches every single day. These issues are critically important to CE device manufacturer's who ship tens of millions of devices with ACR technology embedded. This ability to scale sets Audible Magic apart from competitors. Audible Magic's new video fingerprint technology is based on an image processing algorithm enabling very fast identification requiring just a few video frames from an unknown video clip. Just like its audio technology, the SmartID video fingerprinting technology scales both horizontally and vertically. It is optimized to work well in embedded environments such as with TV sets and set-top boxes. Unique to these video-based CE devices, the new video fingerprint technology was designed to be sensitive to GUI elements added to the video signal by upstream devices.
