IXYS Integrated Circuits Division Inc. announced the immediate availability of the IX4426, IX4427, and IX4428 low-cost dual low-side gate driver ICs. Each of the IX4426/7/8 outputs is capable of sourcing and sinking 1.5A, and they have a wide operating voltage range of 4.5V to 35V, which is much higher than competitive parts. The inputs of each driver are TTL and CMOS compatible, and are virtually immune to latch-up. The IX4426/7/8 drivers are specified with an operating temperature range of -40C to +125C. The IX4426 is configured as a dual inverting driver; the IX4427 is configured as a dual non-inverting driver; and the IX4428 is configured with one inverting and one non-inverting driver. All versions have an industry standard pinout, and are available in an 8-lead SOIC package. The IX4426N, IX4427N, and IX4428N devices are lower cost drop in replacements for various competitive 1.5A gate drivers, while providing a much higher 35V operating capability. The low cost IX4426/7/8 drivers are well suited for driving power MOSFETS and IGBTs in switching power supplies, motor controls, and DC to DC converters. The IX4426/7/8 drivers are added to IXYS ICD's extensive gate driver IC portfolio, which includes its popular IXD_600 series of low side gate driver ICs. The IXD_600 series offers gate drivers rated from 2A up to 30A.
IXYS Integrated Circuits Division announced the availability of the miniature 350V, 8-pin narrow SOIC, Dual 1-Form-A (2 Single-Pole, Normally Open switches in a single package) Solid State Relay (SSR). The CPC2030 is 40% smaller compared to the popular standard 8-lead SOIC, thus enabling significant board space savings. The CPC2030N uses IXYS Integrated Circuits Division's state of the art, double-molded vertical construction packaging to produce one of the world's smallest relays, and is a drop-in replacement for the Panasonic AQW210SX. The CPC2030 features 120mA maximum load current and 30 Ohms of maximum on-resistance with 2mA of input trigger control current. The reduction of input current allows for the direct drive of these SSRs directly from its Zilog MCUs. Input to output isolation voltage is 1500Vrms. The 350V blocking voltage of the relay is ideal for use in telecom switching systems and instrumentation. Approvals include UL Certified Component: File E76270, CSA Certified Component: Certificate 1172007, EN/IEC 60950-1 Certified Component, and TUV Certificate B 10 05 49410 006. The small size of this SSR and its low input power drive requirement makes it ideal for portable instruments and remote applications enabling automation control of industrial systems.
IXYS Integrated Circuits Division Inc. announced the immediate availability of the PLA192E and PLA193E, 600V, single-pole, normally open (1-Form-A) Solid State Relays (SSRs) with 150mA and 100mA load current ratings, respectively. These devices use an exclusive patented optically coupled photovoltaic technology and efficient MOSFET output switches to provide an enhanced input-to-output isolation of 5000Vrms. The PLA192E and PLA193E devices meet partial discharge testing and are certified to the EN 60747-5-5 standard which guarantees that the devices will not fail under extended periods of time and voltage bias. Partial discharge testing is a production isolation-material quality test. Unlike most isolation safety standards, such as UL1577 and EN60950, which rely on gross over-voltage testing to ensure isolation robustness, partial discharge testing correlates specifically to long term stability of the isolating material that maintains its isolating properties even after prolonged voltage bias. EN 60747-5-5 is a new optocoupler safety standard and requires 100% partial discharge testing of optocouplers. Partial discharge testing measures a very low leakage current that develops as a result of the isolation material breakdown. The PLA192E and PLA193E have a continuous isolation barrier working voltage of 1000V and the partial discharge test is an additional isolation test that is performed after the gross high voltage isolation test. Approvals include: UL Recognized Component: File E76270, CSA Certified Component: Certificate 1175739, EN/IEC 60950-1 Certified Component: TUV Certificate B 12 11 82667 002, DIN EN 60747-5-5 Certified, VDE Certificate. The PLA192E and PLA193E SSRs are available in production quantities.
