Key developments for ObjectVideo, Inc.
ObjectVideo Inc. announced that its ObjectVideo(R) OnBoard(R) and OV Ready technologies are being used by Genetec, as part of the newest version of their IP video surveillance management solution, Omnicast 4.5. Omnicast 4.5 now fully supports ObjectVideo OnBoard through its incorporation of OV Ready, an XML-based intelligent video protocol, allowing the user to not only receive alerts within the Omnicast environment, but also to fully configure and define analytics rules for cameras and other ObjectVideo OnBoard enabled devices on the IP network. The standardized analytics events generated by an OV Ready-enabled camera or IP device are received by Omnicast, which can then establish policies for how that information is used based on rules in place for that view, i.e., vehicle crossing a Video TripWire, object removal, camera tampering, person loitering, etc. Based on these events, Omnicast can then take specific actions, such as generating an alarm to a group of users, displaying the related video to specific operators or providing a procedure for handling the particular event. These events can also be bookmarked to the recordings and users can conduct after-the-fact investigations, searching based on type of event through Genetec's Archive Player. In addition to establishing a common platform for receiving analytic events, Omnicast 4.5 benefits system integrators and end customers by delivering a 100% unified interface for ObjectVideo analytics rule definition and configuration. Omnicast 4.5 makes available OV Ready rule management interfaces that support the entire set of ObjectVideo detection behaviors and communicate the rule configuration data directly with analytic devices, thus eliminating the need for an external analytic system and set of interfaces. The current network of OV Ready-enabled devices on the market includes the Pelco Sarix IXE20DN and IXE20C, and a variety of Lanaccess' onSafe encoders, video servers and intelligent appliances.
ObjectVideo Inc. announced that Lanaccess is the first of its partners to certify and distribute products as OV Ready(TM) Premier compliant, the highest level of OV Ready compliance. Lanaccess achieved Premier compliance across its entire onSafe product line, including the new Tracker Box 4 channel analytics-only product currently installed at multiple customer locations, including a major petro-chemical company in the United States. The OV Ready Compliance Program establishes formal criteria to validate device and application compliance with the OV Ready intelligent video protocol providing OV Ready partners with clear, consistent and attainable objectives for their OV Ready development. It also enables clear communications amongst device and application partners as to features supported. An OV Ready Premier compliant device follows the OV Ready protocol for exposing its event outputs and accepting rule configuration from any third party compliant application.
ObjectVideo Inc. announced that it will showcase product integration enabled by its intelligent video network protocol--OV Ready--along with the company's growing global partner network during ISC West 2009 (booth #20069) being held April 1-3 in Las Vegas. This year's Intelligent Solution Showcase will highlight the fully integrated video surveillance and analytics solutions made possible through OV Ready as well as ObjectVideo(R) OnBoard(R), which enables original equipment manufacturers to easily integrate intelligent video analytics software into their own devices.
