Handal & Associates announced that it has filed new patent infringement lawsuits on behalf of its client, e.Digital Corporation in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California. The three new lawsuits against SanDisk Corp., Philips Electronics North America Corporation and Grundig Intermedia GmbH bring the total number of suits against makers and resellers of infringing products to six. Also named in the Grundig suit are two of Grundig's distributors, GBS North America L.L.C. dba Grundig Business Systems and Smoltz Distributing Inc. In the complaints, e.Digital asserts that products made and sold by the defendants infringe the Company's U.S. patents covering the use of flash memory technologies, which are part of e.Digital's Flash-R(TM) patent portfolio.
Philips Electronics North America Corporation introduced hue, the first Web-enabled LED home lighting system available direct to the consumer. Offered exclusively through Apple stores beginning October 30, the hue starter kit includes three LED bulbs that fit into any standard light fixture, a bridge that connects to existing wireless routers. Philips hue sets up in minutes and, with a quick download of the hue application, the system can be controlled from any iOS or Android device. From the app, consumers can remotely control their home lighting for added security, personalize their lighting experience with custom settings, or program timers to help manage daily schedules, all through the convenience of their smart device.
Philips Electronics North America Corporation has won a $2,198,808 federal contract from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Service's Indian Health Service, Phoenix, for the lease of physiological monitors.
