The Huntington National Bank announced the results to date of its offer to purchase subordinated bank notes having an aggregate principal amount up to $400,000,000. As of 5:00 p.m., New York City time, on November 4, 2009, Huntington had received tenders of subordinated bank notes having an aggregate principal amount of $369,828,000.

The Huntington National Bank has appointed William C. Shivers as Akron/Canton region president. Shivers has been interim region president since July 21, 2009. He has also led Huntington's commercial banking team. His appointment is effective immediately. Shivers joined Huntington from Quaker Manufacturing Corp. where he was director of sales and marketing and vice president of operations. Previously, he worked for Key Bank's commercial banking section for 15 years. He held a variety of positions at Key, including leading teams in Youngstown and Canton. His diverse background includes serving as a state examiner for the Ohio State Auditors Office.

James J. Plum, a longtime residential lending executive, has been named senior vice president and director of consumer lending for Huntington Bank. Plum has led home lending programs for Citizens Financial Group for the past five years, most recently serving as president of Home Lending Solutions for RBS Citizens.
