Capital Lodging operates as a self-administered and self-managed real estate investment trust (REIT) in the United States. It engages in the ownership and acquisition of hotels and would own a diversified portfolio of 34 hotels with 6,829 rooms in 13 states. Through its wholly owned subsidiary, Capital Lodging, LLC, the trust is the sole general partner of Capital Lodging, L.P. As a REIT, Capital Lodging is required to distribute at least 90% of its taxable income each year to its shareholders. The trust was founded by Rick Koenigsberger, Edward J. Rohling, and John D. Bailey. Capital Lodging was formed in 2004 as a Maryland trust and is headquartered in Dallas, Texas.
