Focus Media Reportedly Mulls IPO In Hongkong

Focus Media Holding Ltd. backed by The Carlyle Group LP (NasdaqGS:CG) and other private equity firms, plans a $1 billion initial public offering (IPO) in Hong Kong early in 2015, IFR reported citing sources familiar with the plans. No banks have been formally mandated for the IPO, added IFR. The deal would come less than one year after Focus Media delisted from the Nasdaq stock market. Carlyle, China Everbright Ltd. (SEHK:165), CITIC Capital Partners, Focus Media Holding Ltd., Fosun International Limited (SEHK:656) and FountainVest Partners acquired Focus Media in May 2013 for $3.8 billion.

CITIC Reportedly In Advance Talks To Acquire AsiaInfo-Linkage

CITIC Capital Partners is in advanced talks to acquire AsiaInfo-Linkage, Inc. for about $900 million, said two people with knowledge of the matter who asked not to be identified as the information is confidential. CITIC Capital is joining with AsiaInfo’s management to take the company private, according to one of the people. Both entities are expected to reach an agreement by year-end, the people said. Silver Lake Partners and Primavera Capital Group have dropped out of bidding for AsiaInfo, people familiar with the matter said in September 2012. According to Bloomberg, Jimmy Xia, a Beijing-based spokesman for AsiaInfo and Citic Capital spokeswoman Cindy Tam declined to comment.
