Saul Ewing LLP announced the demise of James Kilcur, partner and former SEPTA general counsel on February 19 after brief illness. Mr. Kilcur joined Saul Ewing LLP in May 1995 after serving as general counsel for SEPTA for eight years where he was known for implementing a successful antifraud program that reined in payments to people claiming to have been hurt on buses, trains and trolleys. At Saul Ewing, Mr. Kilcur was a partner in the labor, employment and employee benefits practice where he extensively tried and supervised labor and employment related cases in federal and state courts. In 2011, Mr. Kilcur was elected chairman of the board of DeSales.

Stephen S. Aichele is returning to Saul Ewing after serving for nearly three years as Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett's Chief of Staff and former General Counsel of the Commonwealth. Before his service in the Corbett administration, Aichele spent his entire 35-year legal career at Saul Ewing where he served in various leadership roles including Managing Partner and Chairman. Aichele has a long history of working with private and governmental entities to create value in projects, and intends to continue that practice with a new emphasis on advising clients who need to work with government to get deals done.
