Tenex Health, Inc. announced that Doug Kohrs, a current member of the Board of Directors, will assume the role of Executive Chairman effective immediately. Mr. Kohrs brings significant operating experience to his new role as Executive Chairman at Tenex Health. He has over 30 years experience in the medical device industry and has spent 15 of those years as a chief executive of public and private companies. Doug has formerly served as CEO of Tornier, CEO of American Medical Systems, and was a founding member of Spine-Tech. Over his successful career in medical devices he has also served on the Board of Directors of fifteen different medical device companies. Current Board Chairman Ivan Mijatovic will remain on the Board of Directors. In addition, Ivan will assume the role of Chief Financial Officer on an interim basis and will oversee the search for a permanent CFO.

Tenex Health announced that Jay Hallinan has been appointed as its new Chief Executive Officer effective October 21, 2013. Jay brings the global sales and marketing experience to aggressively expand its current commercial channels with a disciplined focus on execution. Prior to accepting the CEO role at Tenex Health, Mr. Hallinan served in a senior executive sales position at Stryker Neurovascular. Additionally, Mr. Hallinan has held a number of leadership positions with 3M, Medtronic, and Boston Scientific. Tenex Health's current CEO and Founder Jagi Gill, PhD will remain with the company and assume the role of Chief Scientific Officer. In this role Dr. Gill will work to leverage the technology platform and build a robust product portfolio. He will also remain on the Board of Directors.

Tenex Health, Inc. has received a new Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance for use for its novel TX1 Tissue Removal System. The award of this clearance allows the company to use the TX1 System in a broad range of applications and surgical procedures where tissue fragmentation and aspiration is desirable including General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Laparoscopic Surgery, and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. The FDA clearance also recognizes the technical components of the TX1 System as single use and completely disposable. The company is currently marketing the TX1 system to address damaged tendon tissue associated with chronic tendonosis pain. The hand-held instrument is the size of a writing pen and allows physicians to deliver ultrasonic energy through a needle that specifically cuts and debrides diseased tendon tissue only. The entire procedure is completed through the use of ultrasound image guidance and in an out-patient setting under local anesthesia in less than 20 minutes.
