Tishman Construction Breaks Ground on Lake + Forest Development in Oak Park, Ill

On October 9, 2014, Tishman Construction joined project developers Golub & Company and Wood Partners along with Village of Oak Park officials to celebrate the groundbreaking of a new 540,000-square-foot mixed-use development, Lake + Forest, in Oak Park, Ill. As the project's general contractor, Tishman will be responsible for the construction of the 21-story, 270-unit residential complex, which will include 30,000 square feet on the ground floor for retail as well as an enclosed parking garage with 588 spaces. Construction on the development is scheduled to take 18 months, including 12 months for the completion of the new parking structure. Golub & Company and Wood Partners will own and manage the residential and retail portions of the development, and the Village of Oak Park will own and operate the parking garage.
Tishman Construction Appoints John Barron as Executive Vice President and Mid-Atlantic Regional Manager

Tishman Construction announced that John Barron has joined the firm as executive vice president and Mid-Atlantic regional manager. Mr. Barron will be responsible for overseeing business development activities as well as operations throughout Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. A seasoned industry leader, he will focus on driving the growth of the company in new markets in addition to aggressively expanding its current market share. With nearly 30 years of general contracting and construction management experience, Mr. Barron has expertise building robust businesses across a variety of sectors, including commercial, residential and government. He currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Board for the Washington Building Congress, and he is an active member of the D.C. Building Industry Association, Associated Builders and Contractors, and the Association of General Contractors. Prior to joining Tishman, Mr. Barron served as president of Foulger-Pratt Contracting, LLC, where he was responsible for overall firm performance with a major emphasis on business development and strategic planning.
Tishman Construction to Provide Project Management Services for the First Phase of New Mega Development in Los Angeles

Tishman Construction Corporation announced that it has been selected to provide program management and construction management services for phase one of the China-based Greenland Group's Metropolis development. The $1-billion project will feature mixed-use residential, hotel and retail space on a 6.33-acre site in Downtown Los Angeles. The first phase of Metropolis will include a 19-story luxury hotel with 350 rooms and a 38-story residential tower that will house approximately 300 units. Designed by Gensler, the planned two-phase development will ultimately consist of one high-rise hotel and three residential buildings, all featuring retail on the ground floor. The Metropolis site comprises a full city block, strategically bordering the Harbor Freeway and situated between the Financial District to the north and the L.A. Live Hotel and Entertainment complex, including the Staples Center and the Los Angeles Convention Center, to the south.
