National Council of State Housing Agencies Announces Second Phase of Another 32 Affordable Housing Units

National Council of State Housing Agencies announced that the successful completion of the first phase of Washington Townhomes was celebrated in conjunction with the groundbreaking for another 32 affordable housing units. Construction on the first phase of the town home project began approximately one year ago. Beyond Shelter Inc. (BSI), the Minot Housing Authority and the North Dakota Housing Finance Agency (NDHFA) co-hosted the event at the original project site, 801 18th Avenue SE in Minot. The second phase of the development is located just north of the first. The developments second phase will mirror the first, consisting of 18 two-bedroom, 12 three-bedroom and 2 four-bedroom units. Six of the two-bedroom units will be accessible. BSI anticipates that phase two will be completed by July 2014.

National Council Of State Housing Agencies Announces Management Elections

National Council Of State Housing Agencies (NCSHA) announced its new board of directors, elected by its state HFA members. The election was held during NCSHAs 42nd Annual Conference, October 20-23 in Orlando, FL. NCSHAs newly elected Board officers and directors are: Brian Hudson, Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency, as president; Tom Gleason, MassHousing, as vice president; Grant Whitaker, Utah Housing Corporation, as secretary/treasurer; Kim Herman, Washington State Housing Finance Commission, as at-large executive committee member; Steve Auger, Florida Housing Finance Corporation; Anas Ben Addi, Delaware State Housing Authority; Sarah Carpenter, Vermont Housing Finance Agency; Dean Christon, New Hampshire Housing Finance Authority; Doug Garver, Ohio Housing Finance Agency; Rick McQuady, Kentucky Housing Corporation; Mary Tingerthal, Minnesota Housing; Cris White, Colorado Housing and Finance Authority as board members.

National Council Of State Housing Agencies Elects Grant S. Whitaker as Secretary/Treasurer

Grant S. Whitaker, President and CEO of Utah Housing Corporation was elected Secretary/Treasurer of the National Council of State Housing Agencies (NCSHA) at their Annual Conference held in Orlando, Florida, October 20-23, 2012. Whitaker has served as President and CEO of Utah Housing Corporation since January of 2009.
