Ceylon Petroleum Corporation Ltd. announced that a new board of directors and chairman have been appointed to the company due to four members including the Acting Chairman resigning. The new Chairman of the CPC Tilak Collure and Director Board members Susantha Silva, Hans Wijesuriya and Nalin Pathikirikorale were appointed by Petrolium Minister Susil Premajayantha on August 10. Acting Chairman Dayananda Vidanagamachchi and Director Board members Lakshman Gunawardena, Methsiri Abeygunawardena and Champika Amarasekara have resigned.

L E Susantha Silva was appointed Managing Director of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation Ltd. with effect from June 1 by Petroleum Industries Minister Susil Premajayantha. He is also a member of the Board of Directors, Housing Development and Finance Corporation and several foreign companies. He has held various posts in companies in Angola, India, Switzerland, UAE and the Maldives.

Ceylon Petroleum Corporation Ltd. reported earnings results for 2011. The company lost LKR 94 billion in 2011 up from LKR27 billion a year earlier, largely due to below cost sales to a power utility.
