V.i. Laboratories, Inc. Announces CodeArmor Intelligence for SafeNet Sentinel
Jun 25 13
V.i. Laboratories, Inc. announced CodeArmor(R) Intelligence for SafeNet(R) Sentinel(R). This new solution enables SafeNet Sentinel RMS and HASP customers to generate revenue by taking control of their license overuse and piracy issues without impacting their license management infrastructure, licensed customers or product functionality. SafeNet provides software-based license enforcement systems to an estimated 25,000 customers as well as hardware and USB dongle-based license enforcement technologies such as Sentinel RMS, Sentinel HASP, SuperPro, UltraPro, and SHK. As with any licensing or Digital Rights Management (DRM) system, the cracking community has created multiple mechanisms to bypass SafeNet security, leading to the wide-scale availability and use of unlicensed applications. CodeArmor Intelligence for SafeNet Sentinel enables software vendors to track and identify software misuse to accelerate revenue recovery. It offers SafeNet customers a revenue generating alternative to reduce piracy. CodeArmor Intelligence detects when SafeNet licensing has been circumvented and identifies which organizations have adopted the unlicensed software, allowing sales and compliance teams to generate revenue from unpaid software.
V.i. Laboratories, Inc. Introduces CodeArmor Control
May 7 13
V.i. Laboratories, Inc. announced CodeArmor(R) Control, a new solution that enables software vendors to automate an appropriate and targeted in-application response to adopters of unlicensed software. CodeArmor Control provides three main benefits to these software vendors: Quantification: Enables software vendors to gather intelligence on the use and misuse of their applications so they can measure the true scope and impact of their problem. Analysis: Armed with this data, vendors are now able to examine a more reliable picture of the impact of unlicensed software to uncover trends in the data that can be used to build business rules addressing different use cases. Response: Once analyzed, vendors can create multiple responses designed into the software that control the behavior of the application by targeting specific responses to different scenarios of unlicensed use to specific adopters. CodeArmor Control offers three classes of responses that can be used individually or combined to create an escalation process that best meets the vendor's goals: Prevention (limit or restrict access to an unlicensed application). Education (send targeted messages to the user of unlicensed software within the application). Recovery (generate the license revenue that was previously lost to unlicensed use).
