DFDS A/S Finalizes Two New Building Contracts with P+S Werften Gmbh

DFDS A/S announced that all conditions have been met for the two new building contracts between the company and the P+S Werften GmbH, Stralsund, concerning the construction of two freight ships (ro-ro). Delivery of the first ship is expected to take place in fourth quarter of 2013 followed by the second ship in first quarter of 2014. The price of the two new buildings is EUR 84 million. A further investment of EUR 6 million in specialized equipment is also planned.

Fr. Lürssen Werft GmbH & Co.KG confirmed its interest in the acquisition of Peene-Werft yard in Wolgast from P+S Werften Gmbh. According to Friedrich Luerssen, Chief Executive Officer of Fr. Lürssen, the company is ready to buy the yard. Talks between Fr. Lürssen and Berthold Brinkmann, insolvency administrator of P+S are due to be completed by the end of the week.

DFDS A/S Cancels Contracts with the P+S Werften Concerning Construction of Two Freight Ships

DFDS A/S has cancelled the contracts with the P+S Werften Gmbh, concerning the construction of two freight ships (ro-ro) ordered in November 2010. The contracts are cancelled on account of the shipyard’s breach of several terms of the contracts.
