Cadagua, S.A., Galfar Engineering & Contracting SAOG and Va Tech Wabag Ltd Win Ghubra Project Contract

Cadagua, S.A. and Galfar Engineering & Contracting SAOG and Va Tech Wabag Ltd. has been awarded the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the 42mn-gallons-per-day Ghubra water desalination project. The build, own and operate (BOT) project, which will be modelled as an independent water project (IWP), will be developed by a consortium of Malakoff International Ltd. (MIL), Sumitomo of Japan and Cadagua at a cost of around USD 300 million. Cadagua, VA Tech Wabag and Galfar will form an integrated joint venture (JV) in the form of a special purpose vehicle (SPV) in Oman and enter into an EPC contract with the project company for execution. Galfar informed that the price of EPC package is yet to be determined and shall be finalised upon financial closure with the project company.

Va Tech Wabag Ltd and Cadagua, S.A. and Galfar Engineering & Contracting SAOG Win 192 MLD SWRO Desalination Project in Al Gubrah, Muscat, Sultanate of Oman

Va Tech Wabag Ltd. in association with Cadagua, S.A. and Galfar Engineering & Contracting SAOG have been awarded a 192 MLD SWRO Desalination project in Al Gubrah, Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. The project will be modeled on a build own operate basis as an independent water project to be developed by an consortium of Malakoff International Limited, Sumitomo Corporation and Cadagua at a cost around USD 350 million. Oman Power and Water Procurement Co. S.A.O.C. have awarded the project to the developer consortium and will negotiate and enter into Water Purchase agreement with the Project company to be formed shortly. Cadagua, Wabag and Galfar will form an integrated JV in the form of a special purpose company in Oman and enter into an EPC contract with the project company for execution. The project will be completed in about two years' time. The pre-project activities have been kick started and the financial closure is expected to be completed in 5 months time.
