Rosneft Selects Rail Rolling Stock Operators to Transport its Cargo

Rosneft selected rail rolling stock operators to transport its cargo. Freight One got contracts for RUB 7.7 billion (approximately $232 million). It will transport 70% of cargo from Angarsk, Samara Group of refineries and the Dzemgi station in the Far East. Transoil won contracts for practically the same sum. Its tank wagons will carry 70% of freight from Achinsky refinery, and more than 30% of cargo from Angarsk, including petrochemicals. Neftetransservice won lots for the total sum of RUB 5.37 billion (approximately $161.9 million). It will provide Rosneft with transport services in the Far East.
NTS Interested In RZD's Railcar Business

ZAO NefteTransService (NTS) is seeking to acquire railcar maintenance business and in related subsidiaries of Joint Stock Company Russian Railways. Vadim Aminov, co-owner of NTS said Generally it's of interest and bids by NTS for RZD maintenance subsidiaries would depend on the terms. RZD plans to sell 50% minus two shares in OJSC Railcar Repair Company-1 and at least 75% minus two shares in JSC Railcar Repair Company 2 and JSC Carriage Repair Company-3.
Globaltrans Denies Merger Talks With NefteTransService

Globaltrans Investment Plc (LSE:GLTR) said that it was not in talks with ZAO NefteTransService, denying comments from industry sources that the firms were talking on a merger for the Russian market. Three sources told Reuters on May 24, 2013, that the companies were discussing a merger that would create a business with sales of $2.7 billion and control a 10% of the Russian market. "The Company consistently evaluates opportunities in the Russian rail freight market, however it is currently not engaged in any acquisition discussions with NefteTransService," Globaltrans said in a statement. "The Company emphasizes that its strategy remains to seek out growth both organically and by selective acquisitions," the statement added.
