Intelligent Mechatronic Systems Inc. Key Developments

Sprint Teams with IMS to Offer Premium Turnkey Insurance Telematics Solution

Sprint announced that IMS UBI Intelligence is now available through its Integrated Insurance Solution portfolio for auto insurance customers, provided by Intelligent Mechatronic Systems (IMS). The interest in UBI continues to peak as insurance companies customize their in-vehicle offerings for broad consumer groups, such as everyday commuters, new drivers and commercial fleets. IMS UBI Intelligence offers insurers an accurate way to develop a drivers score (policy premium) based on their actual driving behavior, coupled with the ability to discover new, related revenue streams. These advantages are then passed along to consumers who may receive lowered auto insurance costs by choosing to plug a telematics device into their vehicle's port to measure driving data (distance travelled, vehicle braking and acceleration patterns). Due to the emerging benefits to drivers, Frost & Sullivan forecasts annual growth of the UBI market to be 36% per year, with the U.S. market reaching one million annual activations by 2017.

Intelligent Mechatronic Systems Inc. Introduces Next Generation Fleet Intelligence solution at Insurance Telematics USA 2013

Intelligent Mechatronic Systems previewed its next generation IMS Fleet Intelligence solution at Insurance Telematics USA 2013. IMS Fleet Intelligence provides accurate solution at a competitive, all-in-one price point for fleets of all sizes. The initial feature set is ideal for the underserved, smaller-sized fleet market of two to fifty vehicles and includes real-time vehicle location, behavior-based events and alerts (speeding, acceleration and braking), fuel consumption, idle time information, trip distances, shift tracking using smartphones, and customized vehicle/driver reporting. Since IMS Fleet Intelligence is built on the IMS DriveSync(R) Connected Car(TM) platform, this technology also extends into Usage-Based Insurance, providing a fleet-oriented UBI solution for commercial lines insurers. Commercial lines insurers now have the opportunity to provide their small fleet businesses with actuarial-grade data by offering a fleet management portal to their customers. This provides businesses with the advantage of insurance discounts and lower claims using the same tool that manages their fleets.

Intelligent Mechatronic Systems Inc. Introduces New, Innovative Connected Car Technology

Intelligent Mechatronic Systems Inc. unveiled its next generation IMS DriveSync(R)solution at Telematics Detroit 2013. The new IMS DriveSync solution is a fully converged Connected Car platform that combines the best of Telematics and Infotainment, with the fun of social networking - turning any vehicle into a connected car. IMS DriveSync uniquely puts drivers at the center of the experience, connecting them to the entire driving ecosystem - including OEMs, dealers, insurers, service providers and fellow drivers. It delivers the ultimate Connected Car experience by enabling strong relationships through services that help save time, money and lives. On the Infotainment side, IMS DriveSync works through a smartphone or other mobile device. Using a voice-powered "tap and talk" interface, drivers can safely send and receive texts and emails, access Internet radio, and update Facebook and Twitter. On the Telematics side, a self-install device plugs into a vehicle's On-board Diagnostics (OBD-2) port to monitor vehicle health and support preventative maintenance. This device links drivers to OEMs, dealers and insurers - all of whom can communicate with the driver using custom notifications. Drivers also get access to an exciting, new social community where they can chat, meet-up, and upgrade to premium services, such as usage-based insurance and young drivers programs.
