SOA Software, Inc. Key Developments

SOA Software Unveils Enterprise API Catalog to Drive API Adoption Inside the Enterprise

SOA Software announced the availability of the Enterprise API catalog, an enhancement to its API Management Platform that drives the creation of API communities inside the enterprise. The API catalog combines the collaborative, open practices of external API Portals with search, controlled visibility, selective provisioning, and integration with enterprise security that are required for internal development. This public-private fusion offers enterprises a refreshing and productive way to harness the potential of APIs for software reuse and business value creation. As enterprises modernize their IT infrastructure and adopt cloud and mobility initiatives, they find themselves embracing APIs to drive internal application development and integration. However, the one-size-fits-all approach does not work with API portals.

SOA Software Introduces API Syndication to Accelerate API Adoption

SOA Software introduced API Syndication to help businesses further extend the reach of their APIs by engaging a more diverse set of business partners and developers. An addition to SOA Software's API Management Solution, API Syndication enables enterprises to amplify the adoption of APIs by syndicating them through multiple developer and marketing channels. This allows businesses to create targeted developer communities and maximize API adoption across diverse business units and market segments. The diversity of digital channels such as mobile, social and web often mandates different usage scenarios for APIs. API Syndication solves this problem, allowing enterprises to target specific developer communities with unique use-cases rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all API Portal. API Syndication also brings this solution approach to comparable challenges that are unique to fostering API adoption internally within large enterprises. API usage and scenarios vary significantly across lines of businesses and geographies and require effective syndication through specific targeted internal channels or communities. SOA Software's API Syndication enables API owners to publish their APIs to a targeted set of developers as part of a broader and a more diverse API lifecycle through the following capabilities: Expose APIs though different developer portals (channels) without duplication; Provide a single point of administration and monitoring for APIs and App provisioning across multiple channels; Support different identity systems, security mechanisms and brand experiences across different channels; Support both internal (between lines of business) and external (between external developers and partners) federation scenarios; Seamlessly aggregate developer experience from numerous federation members; and comply with specific security requirements by physically isolating syndicated environments without compromising ease of API administration. SOA Software offers the most comprehensive API Management Solution on the market. It is a secure, robust platform that companies can use to share and manage their APIs with the growing app developer community, their partners, and customers. The platform manages, monitors and secures APIs, ensuring that these APIs deliver the level of service customers and partners require; that corporate and customer information and assets are secure; and that the integrity of the corporate brand is protected.

SOA Software Adds Agility and Control to Cloud and Mobile Development

SOA Software announced the Lifecycle API as part of the latest release of its Lifecycle Manager. The Lifecycle API enables businesses to embed workflow and governance controls within cloud and mobile development, providing businesses with agility and control over their assets. SOA Software's Lifecycle Manager introduces a comprehensive set of REST APIs supporting the creation, updating and role-based review of governed IT assets such as services, APIs and apps. These capabilities can be readily integrated into an IT organization's native tools and processes, increasing organizational agility to respond to changing corporate and regulatory mandates and internal process change. APIs surface technology assets in a business context, and therefore elevate the need for governance beyond IT to include business decision makers. The Lifecycle API enables the integration of business data collection and decision making into technical processes such as API access grants. Lifecycle Manager has pre-built integration with SOA Software's API Gateway and Community Manager, thereby supporting both internal and external development communities. It also offers a variety of new features that make the identification, management and oversight of APIs and other software assets easier. These include: GitHub Integration -- Lifecycle Manager's AnySource Asset Adapter (ASAA) automation framework has been extended to support GitHub, bringing Lifecycle Manager's repository and governance capabilities into cloud-based development communities. Layered Architecture Visualization - With Asset Relationship Visualization, users can quickly and easily understand asset-to-asset relationships via graphical representation within a browser or IDE. Now users can tag specific assets and visualize tagged assets in separate layers. Role-Based User Actions -- Lifecycle Manager provides the ability for administrators to extend core asset functionality with custom user actions. Infrastructure Enhancements - Integration support with the latest releases of various supporting technologies -- Oracle WebLogic Application Server 12c, JBoss EAP 6, Microsoft Visual Studio 2013, Eclipse 4.3 and Microsoft Windows Server 2012.
