Grupo Iusacell SA de CV reported consolidated earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2009. For the quarter, the company reported EPS of MXN 5.64 compared to EPS of MXN 6.20 for the same period of last year. Capital expenditures for the quarter were MXN 134 million mainly for systems and equipment maintenance of its 3-G network. The company reported loss before taxes of MXN 646 million on gross revenues of MXN 2,828 million compared to loss before taxes of MXN 679 million on gross revenues of MXN 2,806 million for the same period of last year. Net revenue for the first nine months was MXN 8,389 million, compared to MXN 8,108 million during the year ago period. EBITDA was MXN 1,419 million, compared to MXN 1,547 million a year ago. Net loss was MXN 1,100 million or MXN 8.78 per share, versus a net loss of MXN 1,284 million or MXN 10.25 per share for the first nine months a year ago. The company reported loss before taxes of MXN 896 million on gross revenues of MXN 8,754 million compared to loss before taxes of MXN 929 million on gross revenues of MXN 8,456 million for the same period of last year.

Iusacell reported earnings results for the third quarter of 2009. For the quarter, the company's net loss was MXN 707 million ($53.2 million) compared to a loss of MXN 777 million in the year-ago period. Revenue rose 1% to MXN 2.71 billion compared to MXN 2.69 billion a year ago. EBITDA was down 9% to MXN 448 million versus MXN 495 million in the third quarter last year. Revenues were bolstered by income from postpaid subscribers, roaming, long distance and calling party pays revenue.

Grupo Iusacell SA de CV announced that Iusacell will launch the MiFi 2200 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot in Mexico. MiFi represents a new offering of mobile broadband access for Iusacell, which supports a rich application environment for both enterprise customers and consumers. With MiFi, Iusacell customers can create a personal Wi-Fi cloud capable of sharing the high-speed internet connectivity of the Iusacell 3G network, while using up to five Wi-Fi enabled devices such as laptops, mobile internet devices, etc.
