Bursa Malaysia Bhd reported audited consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2013. For the quarter, the company reported profit attributable to owners of the company of MYR 38,200,000 or 7.2 sen per basic and diluted share on operating revenue of MYR 101,698,000 compared to profit attributable to owners of the company of MYR 40,613,000 or 7.6 sen per basic and diluted share on operating revenue of MYR 100,502,000 for the last year. The company reported profit before tax of MYR 55,544,000 compared to MYR 57,698,000, net cash from operating activities of MYR 59,414,000 compared to MYR 47,093,000 and purchases of property, plant and equipment and computer software of MYR 11,652,000 compared to MYR 1,712,000 for the last year.

Bursa Malaysia Bhd announced that retirement of Cheah Tek Kuang as Independent & Non Executive Director, effective from March 28, 2013. Encik Cheah Tek Kuang did not seek re-election at the 36th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in view of the implementation of the Board's 9-year policy and in line with the recommendations in the Malaysian Code on Corporate Governance 2012. Hence he retired from office as Director of the company in accordance with Article 69 of the company’s Articles of Association at the close of the 36th AGM held on 28 March 2013.

Bursa Malaysia Bhd announced that retirement of Dato' Dr. Thillainathan a/l Ramasamy as Independent & Non Executive Director, effective from March 28, 2013. Dato’ Dr. Thillainathan a/l Ramasamy was an Associate Professor of University Malaya from 1977 to 1979 and subsequently worked in the banking industry for 10 years. He is currently a member of the Working Group of Economic Council.
