People in the know said that E-Mart Company Ltd is planning to sell its hypermarket business in China as part of a planned strategic shift. According to one of the sources, E-mart is planning to sell all of its 16 stores in China in a packaged deal that might be completed within 2013. The price for the potential sale is still to be discussed. According to another person, E-mart will seek buyers in all sectors including non-retailers.
