Its Energy segment is involved in coal mining; electricity generation by thermal power, wind power, and solar power; and new energy related equipment manufacturing businesses, as well as construction and operation of coal aluminum integration. The company’s Trading segment is involved in trading of alumina, primary aluminum, aluminum fabrication products, other non-ferrous metal products, coal products, raw materials, and supplemental materials. In addition, Aluminum Corporation of China Limited is engaged in the production, acquisition, and distribution of limestone ore, aluminum magnesium ore, and related nonferrous metal products; and aluminum smelting, manufacture, and distribution of nonferrous metals. The company was founded in 2001 and is based in Beijing, the People's Republic of China. Aluminum Corporation of China Limited is a subsidiary of Aluminum Corporation of China.

Chalco To Sell Five Companies

Aluminum Corporation Of China Limited (SEHK:2600) (Chalco) said in a statement on December 19 that its Board of Directors has decided to sell three fully-owned Ningxia-based silicon companies, one 72.12% owned subsidiary and one 26.88% owned unit. The five companies are involved in silicon metal, photovoltaic materials and polysilicon production. If Chalco fails to sell the stakes, it will disband the five subsidiaries or apply for their bankruptcy. The sale is intended to "adjust the company's industrial structure and reduce losses", it said.

Aluminum Corporation of China Limited Announces Resignation of Xiong Weiping as Chairman of the Board and Executive Director

The board of directors of Aluminum Corporation of China Limited announced that Mr. Xiong Weiping has resigned as the chairman of the board and the executive director due to changes of works. The resignation became effective from 18 December 2014. Mr. Xiong ceased to serve as the member of the nomination committee and the chairman of the development and planning committee of the company since the same day. In accordance with relevant requirements of the Articles of Association of the company, Mr. Luo Jianchuan (the executive Director) was elected by more than half of the Directors of the company to perform the duties of the chairman of the Board (including but not limited to convening and presiding over meetings of the Board, presiding over the general meetings and executing relevant documents, etc.) during the period after the resignation of Mr. Xiong until a new chairman of the Board is elected by the company.
