Kyocera Corporation manufactures, sells, and distributes industrial components, and telecommunications and information equipment worldwide. The company provides fine ceramic parts, such as components for semiconductor processing and flat panel display manufacturing equipment, information and telecommunication components, automotive components, sapphire substrates, and general industrial machinery components; and semiconductor parts comprising ceramic packages for crystal and SAW devices, CMOS/CCD image sensor and LSI ceramic packages, optical communication device packages and components, and organic multilayer packages. It also offers applied ceramic products, such as residential and commercial solar power generating systems, solar cells and modules, cutting tools, micro drills, medical and dental implants, and jewelry and fine ceramic application products; and electronic devices consisting of ceramic and tantalum capacitors, SAW devices, RF modules, EMI filters, clock oscillators, crystal units, ceramic resonators, optical low pass filters, connectors, thermal and inkjet print heads, amorphous silicon photoreceptor drums, liquid crystal displays, and touch panels. In addition, the company provides mobile phones, PHS handsets, and PHS base stations; and information equipment comprising monochrome and color printers, multifunctional products, wide format systems, document solutions, application software, and supplies. Further, it offers information systems and telecommunication, engineering, and management consulting services; Epoxy molding compounds for semiconductor encapsulation; and electrical insulators, flexible printed circuit sheet materials, synthetic resin molded parts, and LED lighting systems, as well as engages in realty development activities. The company was formerly known as Kyoto Ceramic Kabushiki Kaisha and changed its name to Kyocera Corporation in 1982. Kyocera Corporation was founded in 1959 and is headquartered in Kyoto, Japan.

Kyocera presented a new Ceramic Coated Cookware line featuring its proprietary ceramic nonstick coating technology that has been shown to outlast and outperform other brands. Kyocera Corporation announced that construction has been completed on the Kyocera Group's first manufacturing plant in India. The establishment of Kyocera CTC Precision Tools is intended to strengthen the company's cutting tools business in the Indian market, where demand for industrial cutting tools is expanding rapidly. The industrial cutting tool market in India is expected to grow the fastest of all newly developing countries based on the growth in the automotive, industrial machinery, energy, and infrastructure markets. Kyocera CTC Precision Tools began construction of the new manufacturing plant in November 2012 in order to expand its cutting tool business in the country.
