Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems, Ltd. and Hitachi (China) Ltd. Jointly Receive Order for H-25 Gas Turbine for Ningbo Kefeng Thermal Power Co. in China

Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Ltd. announced that the company and Hitachi (China) Ltd. have jointly received an order for an H-25 gas turbine for Ningbo Kefeng Thermal Power Co. Ltd. (NKTP) in China. The unit on order is to replace an existing gas turbine currently in service in Unit No.1 of NKTP's thermal power plant in Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province. The new turbine is slated to go into operation in the middle of July, 2015. HCH has received the order for the H-25 gas turbine from Harbin Guanghan Gas Turbine Co. Ltd. and MHPS is responsible for manufacturing of the gas turbine.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. Receives Order for Post Combustion CO2 Capture System for Coal-Fired Power Generation Plant

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. has received an order for a post combustion CO2 capture system for the enhanced oil recovery (EOR) project in Texas, the U.S.A., which is primarily promoted by NRG Energy Inc. and JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration Corporation. The system will capture CO2 from flue gas from an existing coal-fired power generation plant and will have a CO2 capture capacity of 4,776 metric tons per day (mtpd). The system is slated for completion in the fourth quarter of 2016. MHI received the CO2 capture system order from Petra Nova CCS I LLC. The consortium partner of MHIA in receiving order from Petra Nova CCS I is TIC - The Industrial Company. JX Nippon has participated in the project by purchasing a 50% membership interests of Petra Nova Parish Holding LLC. The EOR project involves the separation and capture of CO2 from flue gas emitted from Unit 8 of NRG's WA Parish generation station, a coal-fired power generation plant, located approximately 60 kilometers southwest of Houston, Texas, and injection of the CO2 into nearby West Ranch oil field to boost crude oil production. The CO2 capture system will consist of a flue-gas quencher, absorber and regeneration system, CO2 compression unit, and utility facilities. It will have a CO2 capture efficiency of 90%. MHI will license CO2 capture technology to Petra Nova CCS I through MHIA. The MHIA/TIC consortium will undertake engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of the CO2 capture system and its ancillary facilities.

Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems, Ltd. Receives Order for GTCC Power Plant Equipment for NWPGCL

Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Ltd. announced that it has received an order for a set of gas turbine and steam turbine for the Bheramara gas turbine combined cycle (GTCC) power plant to be developed by North-West Power Generation Company Limited (NWPGCL). The prime contractor is Marubeni Corporation. The set of gas turbine and steam turbine will be supplied to Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) of India entrusted with construction of the power plant by Marubeni Corporation on EPC basis. Shipments of the ordered equipment will be started in September 2015. The Bheramara Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) will be constructed in Khulna District approximately 150 kilometers (km) northwest of Dhaka, Bangladesh's capital city, with support from ODA loan provided by the Japanese Government through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Gross output of Bheramara CCPP will be more than 410 megawatts (MW), making it one of the large GTCC power plant in Bangladesh.
