Kulim (Malaysia) Berhad is engaged in the oil palm plantation business. It operates through Plantation, Intrapreneur Ventures, and Others segments. The company produces oil palm products, including palm oil, palm kernel oil, palm kernel cake, oleochemicals, biodiesel, and finished products. It also provides sea transportation, parking management, bulk mailing and printing, management and consultancy, mechanical equipment assembling, and production house and event management services; oil palm nursery and other related services; sells personal care, wood based products, and tropical fruits; trades agricultural machinery and parts; offers rubber and rubber products; cultivates sugar cane, pineapples, mushrooms, and other agriculture products; breeds and sells cattle; and fabricates steel structures. In addition, the company provides training programs, facilities maintenance, project and construction works, and port and electrical installation services; field clearing, earthwork, road construction, and resurfacing services; shipping and forwarding agent, and timber logging services; water treatment, and biotechnology research and development services; and mill maintenance and insurance broking services. Further, it constructs oil and gas equipment; trades granular synthetic bone graft, and agricultural and biochemical fertilizers; offers sawn timber, timber doors, and laminated timer scantling products; supplies computer equipment and hardware products; and maintains and supplies software products. Additionally, Kulim (Malaysia) Berhad is engaged in aquaculture, property holding and letting, and shipbuilding activities. It has operations in the United Kingdom, Malaysia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and the Solomon Islands. The company was founded in 1933 and is based in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Kulim (Malaysia) Berhad is a subsidiary of Johor Corporation.

Kulim (Malaysia) Berhad plans to expand its oil and gas (O&G) operations as part of efforts to be a diversified company and improve financial and operational performance. The company announced its re-entry into Indonesia last October, which has expanded its oil palm landbank by some 40,000ha in Central Kalimantan, will accelerate its new planting programme.

Felda Global Ventures May Submit Bid For Kulim Malaysia's Stake In New Britain Palm Oil

Felda Global Ventures Holdings Berhad (KLSE:FGV) will submit its bid for Kulim (Malaysia) Berhad's (KLSE:KULIM) 49% stake in New Britain Palm Oil Limited (LSE:NBPO) in July 2014, FGV Group President and Chief Executive Officer Mohd Emir Mavani Abdullah said on June 25, 2014. Mohd Emir said FGV was still assessing the proposed acquisition of the stake. We are discussing with our advisers," Mohd Emir told reporters. He said FGV officials had yet to meet Kulim officials on the matter. Emir also declined to specify the price FGV was willing to pay for the stake.
