Calsonic Kansei Corporation reported consolidated and non-consolidated earnings results for the year ended March 31, 2013. For the year, the group (consolidated) reported net sales of ¥760,870 million, operating income of ¥10,250 million, ordinary income of ¥13,247 million and net income of ¥5,857 million or ¥21.86 per basic share compared to net sales of ¥782,299 million, operating income of ¥21,962 million, ordinary income of ¥22,027 million and net income of ¥24,284 million or ¥90.62 per basic share reported in the same period last year. Cash flows from operating activities were ¥12,049 million against ¥36,118 million reported last year. For the year, the parent company (non-consolidated) reported net sales of ¥358,431 million, operating income of ¥3,916 million, ordinary income of ¥5,510 million and net income of ¥2,072 million or ¥7.73 per basic share compared to net sales of ¥416,907 million, operating income of ¥7,657 million, ordinary income of ¥8,128 million and net income of ¥13,175 million or ¥49.17 per basic share reported in the same period last year. For the year, the company declared a year end dividend of ¥3.75 per share, which brings total dividend of ¥7.50 per share compared to the same amount declared last year. The dividend is payable on June 27, 2013. For the fiscal 2013, the forecasts an interim dividend of ¥3.75 per share at the end of the second quarter and an year end dividend of ¥3.75 per share. For the year ending March 31, 2014, the company expects to report net sales of ¥830,000 million, operating income of ¥20,000 million, ordinary income of ¥19,000 million and net income of ¥10,000 million or ¥37.32 per basic share.

THE axing of 48 jobs at a car manufacturing plant has been described as a blow for the community of Llanelli. Calsonic Kansei has cut the jobs within two departments at its Llethri Road base.
