The company’s products and services include equities, derivatives, Islamic offerings, offshore services, bonds, indices, information products, investment knowledge hub, central depository system accounts, consolidated central depository system statement of accounts, and securities borrowing and lending. It also operates and maintains securities, derivatives, and offshore financial exchanges; a Shari’ah compliant commodity trading platform; a central depository for securities listed on the securities exchange; a clearing house for the securities and derivatives exchange; and an electronic trading platform for the bond market. In addition, the company compiles, provides, and disseminates prices and other information relating to securities quoted on the securities and derivatives exchanges, as well as data reported from the bond platform. Further, it acts as a nominee for Bursa Malaysia Depository and receives securities on deposit or for safe-custody or management. The company was formerly known as Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange Berhad and changed its name to Bursa Malaysia Berhad in April 2004. Bursa Malaysia Berhad was founded in 1973 and is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Bursa Malaysia Bhd reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported operating revenue of MYR 120,976,000 against MYR 112,064,000 a year ago. Profit before tax was MYR 73,618,000 against MYR 64,456,000 a year ago. Profit attributable to owners of the company was MYR 53,088,000 or 9.9 sen diluted EPS against MYR 46,209,000 or 8.6 sen diluted EPS a year ago. For the nine months, the company reported operating revenue of MYR 351,599,000 against MYR 335,929,000 a year ago. Profit before tax was MYR 202,346,000 against MYR 197,280,000 a year ago. Profit attributable to owners of the company was MYR 145,087,000 or 27.1 sen diluted EPS against MYR 139,233,000 or 26.1 sen diluted EPS a year ago. Net cash from operating activities was MYR 162,707,000 against MYR 174,243,000 a year ago. Bursa Malaysia Bhd has introduced the Asean Post Trade services to participating organizations (POs) for outbound (non-Bursa Malaysia Securities) trades executed in participating Asean stock exchanges. The services, available on subscription basis, will facilitate the clearing and settlement of outbound trades executed on the respective participating stock exchanges, including safekeeping of the securities traded on participating exchanges of the Asean Trading Link.
