The company offers mobile games primarily for broadband networks and mobile phones. Its mobile game product line includes Amateur Surgeon, Klitschko Boxing, Leo Messi-GOAL, Bustin’ Balls, BRAVEHEART, SHOOTER, Tokio Hotel, Blackie’s Teenage Club, Germany’s Next Topmodel, Let Go off My Banana, Lollipop, Poli-the Bear, POPSTARS On Stage, Swine Dining, The Bad Girls Club, V-boy, V-girl, and V-penguins. The company also provides mobile software packages, including MoPA-TV, a mobile controlled interactive television shows and formats; Mobile Diab and Mobile Property, the mobile business applications; Mobile Booster, a mobile technology and productivity tool; and SmartEngine Mobile Platform, a mobile technology platform for 2G and 3G phones, and mobile devices. In addition, it offers interactive in-game product placements in 2D and 3D, as well as individually sponsored and custom-developed mobile games for advertising agencies, media companies, and global brands. Further, the company operates a mobile portal site, botme.com that sells various products directly to end users. It also provides consulting, and custom specific project and product development services, as well as support for the creation and maintenance of mobile products. Artificial Life, Inc. markets its products through direct sales, distribution and channel agreements, hand-set manufacturers, and strategic relationships with third party providers and resellers. The company has strategic alliances with Apple Inc.; Cartoon Network, Inc.; Paramount Digital Entertainment; Red Bull Air Race; BMW; FC Bayern Munich; TV Asahi; and 3M Co. It was formerly known as Neurotec International Corp. and changed its name to Artificial Life, Inc. in August 1997. The company was founded in 1994 and is headquartered in Santa Monica, California.

Artificial Life Inc. announced earnings results for the third quarter ended September 30, 2009. Revenues for the quarter were $8,723,481 as compared to $6,628,597 for the quarter ended September 30, 2008. The increase in revenues of $2,094,884, or 32% compared to 2008 was mainly due to increased (a) product license revenue from mobile games, one-time downloads, (b) monthly subscription revenues for 3G games derived from mobile operators, bulk resellers and hand set distributors and (c) license revenues from the sale of company's mobile diabetes and mobile property solutions. Income from operations for the quarter was $3,750,768 as compared to income from operations of $3,584,546 for the quarter ended September 30, 2008. Income from operations was mainly due to revenue of $8,723,481 from the sale of product licenses for mobile games and technology licenses, which was offset by costs of revenue of $1,732,798 and operational costs of $3,239,915. Net income for the quarter was $3,875,424 or $0.08 per basic and diluted share compared to net income of $3,485,050 or $0.07 per basic and diluted share for the same period last year.
Artificial Life Inc. and 3M Co. have signed a strategic alliance agreement. In addition, the alliance agreement provides that 3M and Artificial Life plan to cooperate in connection with the marketing of certain of Artificial Life's existing and new products.
