BUCY Details
Bucyrus International Inc. designs, manufactures, and markets draglines, electric mining shovels, and rotary blast-hole drills employed in surface mining, as well as providing aftermarket replacement parts and services for its machines. The company’s equipment is used for mining copper, thermal coal, metallurgical coal, oil sands, iron ore, molybdenum, phosphate, bauxite, gold, diamonds, and uranium. It also offers engineered replacement parts, maintenance and repair labor, technical advice, refurbishment and relocation of machines, structural and mechanical engineering, nondestructive testing, and repairs and rebuilds of machine components, among other things. The company, based in South Milwaukee, was founded as the Bucyrus Foundry & Manufacturing Co. in 1880.

Bucyrus International Inc. revised earnings guidance for the fourth quarter and year of 2009. The company expects 2009 revenue to now fall somewhere between $2.6 billion and $2.625 billion compared to previous guidance was $2.5 billion, up over a $100 million over the previous guidance. EBITDA will now be somewhere between $515 million and $530 million, which is up from second quarter guidance of $485 million to $500 million. The company announced that EBITDA declined to about $120 million in fourth quarter of 2009, from about $150 million or so for the past couple of quarters. The company announced that CapEx spending up to $21 billion for fiscal 2010.
