The company offers business support systems and operations support systems, including revenue management, which enables service providers to manage and track sources of revenue; customer management that ensures consistent interactions across various channels and throughout the customer lifecycle; and service and resource management, which comprises the core operational support systems, such as network planning, service fulfillment, and assurance. Its products include digital commerce and service delivery that manages the digital commerce lifecycle and the value chain of parties involved in delivering digital goods and services; and information management, including product management and customer data integration. The company also provides compact convergence solution, which provides the software and hardware needed to bring services to market and support any network or payment type; integrated advertising management that supports traditional yellow pages and white pages directory sales, and publishing operations, as well as interactive advertising products; and Internet yellow pages solution, which supports the Internet yellow pages operation, including local directories, user manager, user generated content manager, and local search. In addition, it offers various services, including consulting and systems integration services; managed services, such as data center and infrastructure management, application management and ongoing support, systems modernization and consolidation, and business process operations support and transformational business process outsourcing; and product support services. Amdocs Ltd. announced that it has signed a multi-year, managed services agreement with Data & Audio Visual Enterprises Wireless Inc. (DAVE Wireless). As part of the agreement, DAVE Wireless has licensed billing, customer care, ordering and operational support systems (OSS) products from Amdocs CES-7.5, Amdocs' Customer Experience Systems (CES) product portfolio. This agreement greatly enhances DAVE Wireless' launch plans already well underway with the construction of its Ericsson 3G UMTS network in five of the most populous metropolitan areas in Canada.
Amdocs Ltd. announced that SMART Communications has deployed Amdocs ChangingWorlds' software to support its Sandbox mobile social media service. Sandbox allows subscribers to access services such as social networking, forums, entertainment, blogs, news and shopping, and traditional communication services such as messaging. Amdocs ChangingWorlds' technology enhances content discovery by improving subscribers' access to relevant, personalized content and services--this in turn helps to drive increased data usage and revenues. In addition, SMART can launch new content services faster through its 'one-click' publishing capabilities and automatically adapt Sandbox content to suit any target device.
Amdocs Ltd. reported consolidated earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year ended September 30, 2009. For the quarter, the company's revenue was $707.4 million, a decrease of 14.3% from last year's fourth quarter revenue of $825.3 million and up 2.5% sequentially. Net income on a non-GAAP basis was $109.2 million or $0.53 per diluted share compared to non-GAAP net income of $117.2 million or $0.54 per diluted share, in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2008. Non-GAAP net income excludes amortization of purchased intangible assets and equity-based compensation expenses of $23.4 million, net of related tax effects, in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2009 and excludes such amortization, equity-based compensation expenses and restructuring charges of $34.5 million, net of related tax effects, in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2008. The company's GAAP net income was $85.8 million or $0.42 per diluted share compared to GAAP net income of $82.7 million or $0.38 per diluted share for the same quarter a year ago. Income before income taxes was $96.7 million and operating income of $96.8 million compared to income before income taxes of $89.6 million and operating income of $101.5 million for the same quarter a year ago. Free cash flow was $166 million comprised of cash flow from operations of $184 million less approximately $18 million in net capital expenditures and other. For the full year, the company's revenue decreased by 9.5% to $2.863 billion compared to $3,162.1 million for the previous year. Net income on a non-GAAP basis was $438.9 million or $2.12 per diluted share compared to non-GAAP net income of $499.6 million or $2.29 per diluted share in fiscal 2008. The company's GAAP net income was $326.2 million or $1.58 per diluted share compared to GAAP net income of $378.9 million or $1.74 per diluted share, in fiscal 2008. Income before income taxes was $366.2 million and operating income of $367.3 million compared to income before income taxes of $417.6 million and operating income of $405.6 million for the same period a year ago. Net cash provided by operating activities was $519.2 million and payments for purchase of equipment and leasehold improvements of $83.3 million compared to net cash provided by operating activities of $483 million and payments for purchase of equipment and leasehold improvements of $135.8 million for the same period a year ago. The company provided earnings guidance for the first quarter of fiscal 2010. For the quarter, the company expects revenue will be approximately $705 million to $725 million. Diluted earnings per share on a non-GAAP basis are expected to be $0.51 to $0.55, excluding acquisition-related costs and approximately $0.04 to $0.05 per share of equity-based compensation expense, net of related tax effects. The company estimates GAAP diluted earnings per share for the first quarter will be $0.38 to $0.44.
