Digital River Inc. announced that it has signed THQ Inc. as a client. As part of an e-commerce agreement between the companies, Digital River is hosting and managing a THQ online store. The new U.S. store supports digital download sales of THQ's PC games, including popular titles such as Warhammer(R) 40,000(TM): Dawn of War(R) II and Red Faction(R): Guerrilla(TM).

Digital River Inc. reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2009. For the quarter, the company's revenue totaled $99.4 million, compared to $96.3 million during the same period in 2008. These results exceeded management's third quarter revenue guidance of $96.5 million to $98.5 million. GAAP net income was $11.0 million or $0.29 per diluted share, compared to GAAP net income of $15.6 million or $0.39 per diluted share, in the third quarter of 2008. These results were consistent with management's third quarter earnings guidance of $0.26 per diluted share to $0.29 per diluted share. For the nine months, the company reported net income of $39.4 million or $1.05 per basic and diluted share on revenue of $298.9 million, compared to net income of $47.14 million or $1.15 per basic and diluted share on revenue of $298.3 million, a year ago. Income from operations was $50.4 million compared to $52.4 million a year ago. Income before income tax expense was $52.9 million compared to $63.6 million a year ago. Net cash provided by operating activities was $106.2 million compared to $76.6 million a year ago. Purchases of equipment and capitalized software were $26.1 million compared to $15.2 million a year ago. The company provided earnings guidance for the fourth quarter and full year of 2009. For the quarter, the company expects total revenue to be in the range of $94 million to $98 million; GAAP diluted net income per share of $0.18 to $0.22, assuming a 25% tax rate; and non-GAAP diluted net income per share of $0.30 to $0.34, assuming a 27% tax rate. For the full year, the company expects revenue of approximately $393 million to $397 million; GAAP diluted net income per share of $1.23 to $1.27, assuming a 25.5% tax rate; and non-GAAP diluted net income per share of $1.69 to $1.73, assuming a 27% tax rate.
