Deutsche Telekom AG provides a range of telecommunications and information technology services worldwide. The companys Mobile Communications segment offers digital mobile telephony voice services and data services, such as short message services, multimedia messaging services, and mobile Internet and other data services; and national and international roaming services through various roaming agreements with third-party operators, as well as sells mobile devices in conjunction with its services. Its Broadband/Fixed Network segment offers network communications services consisting of network access products and calling services; wholesale services, including voice services, Internet protocol (IP) services, and network and access services and solutions; IP/Internet products and services, such as broadband access, VoIP, IPTV, triple-play services, and digital distribution platforms for games, software, and music; data communications services and solutions, and terminal equipment for telecommunications, as well as publishing services, customer retention programs, and installation and maintenance services; and fixed-line network services, wholesale services, IP/Internet products and services, and multimedia services. The companys Business Customers segment, through T-Systems division, provides information and communications technology services primarily to German and international companies, non-profit organizations, and governmental agencies. This segment offers telecommunication services, including network, hosting, and ASP services; and computing and desktop, systems integration, and other telecommunication services. Deutsche Telekom AG has a strategic partnership agreement with Yahoo!, Inc. for the development and provision of mobile search services based on Yahoo! oneSearch solution. It has a 50-50 joint venture with France Telecom. The company was founded in 1995 and is based in Bonn, Germany.

Deutsche Telekom AG reported consolidated earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2009. For the quarter, the company reported profit before income taxes of 1,696 million, adjusted profit before income taxes of 1,873 million, adjusted EBITDA of 5,528 million and net cash from operating activities of 5,343 million compared to profit before income taxes of 1,634 million, adjusted profit before income taxes of 2,028 million, adjusted EBITDA of 5,254 million and net cash from operating activities of 4,285 million for the same period of last year. Adjusted net profit was 1,074 million compared to 1,182 million for the same period of last year. For the nine months, the company reported profit before income taxes of 2,195 million, EBITDA of 15,363 million and net profit of 356 million on net revenue of 48,402 million compared to profit before income taxes of 4,147 million, EBITDA of 14,415 million and net profit of 2,213 million on net revenue of 45,557 million for the same period of last year. Adjusted profit before income taxes was 4,428 million, adjusted EBITDA was 15,598 million and adjusted net profit was 2,485 million compared to adjusted profit before income taxes of 4,630 million, adjusted EBITDA of 14,790 million and adjusted net profit of 2,565 million for the same period of last year. Deutsche Telekom AG announced earnings results for the third quarter of 2009. For the quarter, the company's core earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) rose by 10.2% to EUR 5.394 billion.
Deutsche Telekom AG posted a 7.2% rise in its third-quarter net profit helped by tight cost control. Net profit for the quarter ended Sept. 30 was EUR 959 million, up from EUR 895 million a year earlier. Revenue for the period rose 5.2% to EUR 16.26 billion. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, or Ebitda, adjusted for one-time items and restructuring, the company's preferred measure of operating performance, rose 5.2% to EUR 5.53 billion. Deutsche Telekom's sales and operating profit benefited from the consolidation of Hellenic Telecommunications Organization (OTE), which contributed EUR 1.5 billion to Deutsche Telekom's third-quarter sales and EUR 600 million to adjusted Ebitda. Third-quarter free cash flow was EUR 3.29 billion. The company confirmed its full-year 2009 outlook. The company forecast OTE to boost its adjusted Ebitda by around EUR 2.0 billion in the 11 months of fiscal 2009 following the consolidation of the Greek firm. Excluding OTE, Deutsche Telekom forecast Ebitda to fall by around 2% to 4% this year from EUR 19.5 billion a year earlier. Deutsche Telekom also said it expects OTE to contribute around EUR 0.6 billion to free cash flow, bringing the group's total free cash flow to around EUR 7 billion.
