Infosys Technologies Ltd. announced that it has teamed up with Oracle Corp. through the 'BPO Powered by Oracle program,' and is launching a comprehensive managed services platform for multi-function HR through its Infosys Business Platforms offering. With this launch, Infosys moves into the next generation of multi-process HR transformational outsourcing. This platform is built on state-of-the-art technology and will enable process transformation, while also being cost-effective. This will help companies streamline their HR operations and reduce operational costs. Infosys Technologies Ltd. signed an agreement with the Rural Development Department of the government of Andhra Pradesh (AP), India to set up BPO centers in 22 districts across the state. The company has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty to set up a BPO center in each of the districts in the state. The company said AP was the first state to undertake the rural BPO model in the country. The company plans to extend the model across the country.
B.G. Srinivas, Infosys Technologies Ltd.’s executive council member overseeing European operations told Dow Jones Newswires that the firm is looking for acquisitions in France and Germany to expand its operations in Europe. He added that valuation expectations of potential targets are damping the plans. He said, “We are looking at companies typically in the revenue range of $100 million to $300 million (a year).” He noted that Infosys has been talking to potential targets over the past six months and “even today that continues.” He also said that good target companies are waiting for valuations to improve. He said that Infosys is looking for companies providing consulting and IT service packages to clients.
