Jardine Matheson Holdings Limited, together with its subsidiaries, engages in engineering and construction, transport services, insurance broking, property investment and development, retailing, restaurants, luxury hotels, motor vehicles and related activities, heavy equipment, mining, and agribusinesses primarily in Asia. It offers information technology services; reinsurance broking, risk management, and employee benefit services. The company also operates approximately 4,700 outlets, including supermarkets, hypermarkets, health and beauty stores, convenience stores, home furnishings stores, and restaurants, as well as engages in motor trading, and sale and service of motor vehicles and related activities primarily Hong Kong, Macau, and the United Kingdom. In addition, it develops commercial and residential projects in Hong Kong, as well as involves in the investment and management of a portfolio of 41 hotels and resorts worldwide; manufacture, assembly, and distribution of motor vehicles and components; and provision of consumer finance primarily for automobiles and motorcycles, as well as insurance and investment banking services. Further, the company’s other interests include heavy machinery; mining contracting; oil palm plantations; and distribution of office automation products. Jardine Matheson Holdings Limited was founded in 1832 and is based in Central, Hong Kong.
