KingFisher plc announced that Mr. Hartmut Krämer, who has been a non-executive director of the company for seven years, has informed the board of his intention to retire from the board with immediate effect, due to ill health.

KingFisher plc has created a role of group innovation director to ensure it remains at the cutting edge of retail. Andy Wiggins, who joined the retailer as group strategy director in 2006, has been appointed to the post. He will be responsible for ensuring the group maintains its innovation leadership and works with suppliers to offer customers 'new, original and exclusive products', as well as offering services that 'make their shopping experience as easy as possible'. Wiggins will sit on the retail board alongside other senior executives including group chief executive Ian Cheshire, UK chief executive Euan Sutherland, international chief Peter Hogsted and group property director Ian Playford, who started at the retailer this week.

KingFisher plc announces that it has, to date, purchased a total of EUR 161,690,000 of its 4.5% Medium Term Notes due October 2010. The purchases represent 32.34% of the initial issue and the Notes purchased will be cancelled.
