During the company's investor meeting, McDonald's Corp. outlined the company's priorities to continue to drive growth in sales, market share and returns through a strategic focus on its customers and restaurants under the successful Plan to Win. This includes plans to open about 1,000 new restaurants and reimage 2,300 existing locations worldwide in 2010. The company is increasing capital expenditures in 2010 to $2.4 billion for strategic brand differentiating investments, like reimaging.

McDonald's Corp. announced that the company exits Plaza. After more than 30 years on the Country Club Plaza, the company has closed.

McDonald's Corp. reported sales results for the month and year to date ended October 31, 2009. For the month of October 2009, the company reported that its sales increased by 3.3% compared to 8.2% last year. Sales in U.S. decreased 0.1% compared to 5.3% for the same period last year. Sales in Europe increased by 6.4% compared to 9.8% for the same period last year. Sales in Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa increased 4.7% compared to 11.5% for the same period last year. For the year to date ended October 31, 2009, the company reported that its sales increased by 4.2% compared to 7.0% last year. Sales in U.S. increased by 3.1% compared to 3.9% for the same period last year. Sales in Europe increased by 5.5% compared to 8.9% for the same period last year. Sales in Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa increased 4.0% compared to 8.9% for the same period last year.
