Trimble Navigation Ltd. gives Android(TM) phone users an edge for all of their outdoor activities with its AllSport GPS(TM) application. The fitness application, already available from a variety of cellular carriers on GPS-enabled phones, is the ultimate fitness application for anyone who wants to start or improve their workout routine. AllSport GPS, a Trimble Outdoors(TM) application, allows users to track and record their results right on their mobile phone from a variety of outdoor activities, including walking, running, hiking, cycling, mountain biking and snowboarding. The application also has a Web component on the Trimble Outdoors Web site, where subscribers can view and analyze results, upload maps, plan workouts, share information with friends by email and through Faceboook, customize workouts shared by others, and send these workouts to their Android phone.

Trimble Navigation Ltd. introduced the Trimble® CX 3D laser scanner with Trimble's proprietary WAVEPULSE(TM) technology. WAVEPULSE combines the high short-range accuracy of phase-shift technology with the low-noise sensitivity and high-distance characteristics of time-of-flight technology. The result is high-precision measurements over the full operating range that provides the clean 3D data needed for industrial plant scanning applications--allowing the user to realize increased productivity and reduced operating costs. And by requiring fewer setups and enabling faster processing time in an industrial plant environment, the Trimble CX solution can contribute to improved worker safety. The Trimble CX solution is built for efficient data capture in the plant. With reliable scanning at 50,000 points per second and an 80 meter range with a 360 degree x 300 degree field of view, the solution provides widespread and efficient data capture from a single setup. A rugged design, IP54 rating and protective housing for the rotating laser allow the scanner to deliver continuous and reliable results even in difficult industrial environments. An integrated camera collects additional image information that can improve the visualization, post-processing and communication of the captured data.

Trimble Navigation Ltd. reported earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended Oct. 2, 2009. For the quarter, the company reported net income attributable to company of $15,577,000 or $0.13 per diluted share on revenue of $269,713,000 compared to net income attributable to company of $39,067,000 or $0.31 per diluted share on revenue of $328,087,000 in the previous year period. Income before income taxes was $21,561,000 compared to $55,619,000 in the previous year period. Operating income was $20,165,000 compared to $54,056,000 in the previous year period. Net income was $15,847,000 compared to $39,067,000 in the previous year period. For the nine months, the company reported net income attributable to company of $53,899,000 or $0.44 per diluted share on revenue of $848,730,000 compared to net income attributable to company of $127,733,000 or $1.02 per diluted share on revenue of $1,061,150,000 in the previous year period. Income before income taxes was $74,938,000 compared to $182,473,000 in the previous year period. Operating income was $73,143,000 compared to $175,020,000 in the previous year period. Net income was $54,694,000 compared to $127,733,000 in the previous year period. For the fourth quarter of 2009 Trimble expects revenue between $265 million and $270 million, with GAAP earnings per share of $0.08 to $0.10 and non-GAAP earnings per share of $0.19 to $0.21. Non-GAAP guidance for the fourth quarter of 2009 excludes the amortization of intangibles of $14.8 million related to previous acquisitions and the anticipated impact of stock-based compensation expense of $5.0 million. Both GAAP and non-GAAP earnings per share assume a 30% to 32% tax rate and 123 million shares outstanding.
