Key developments for Texas Instruments Inc. (TXN)

Avnet, TI and Xilinx Launch Analog eLab Videocast Series

Avnet Electronics Marketing, Texas Instruments Inc. and Xilinx Inc. have launched a new multipart videocast series emphasizing TI's Fusion Digital Power(TM) solutions for the latest generation of Xilinx field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs). This new Analog eLab(TM) Videocast series features engineering subject matter experts from Avnet, TI and Xilinx discussing a myriad of design topics, in a round-robin format, and utilizing TI's eLab videocast format. The eLab series covers innovative solutions and a best practices approach for powering FPGA design considerations in 5-15-minute installments. The videos follow an easy-to-follow discussion format and include product demonstrations where appropriate. 'Meeting the Power Requirements for Xilinx Spartan(R)-6 and Virtex(R)-6 Families' kicks off the series--subsequent installments feature real-world design examples using Xilinx's Power Estimator spreadsheet tool and a TI Fusion GUI Demonstration.

Texas Instruments Inc. Introduces Quad Power Management Supervisor Family with Programmable Delay and Watchdog Timer

Texas Instruments Inc. introduced a new family of quad supply voltage supervisors (SVSs) with programmable delay and watchdog timer, which minimize board space in multi-rail power supply designs. The TPS386000, TPS386020, TPS386040, and TPS386060 supervisors can monitor four power rails that are greater than 0.4 V with a threshold accuracy of 0.25%. This accuracy combined with an integrated watchdog timer provides system reliability for processor-based applications. The TPS386000 family of devices offer an independent programmable delay input for each supervisor channel, which can be set from 1.25 ms to 10 seconds for power supply sequencing. The TPS386000 devices operate with a very low quiescent current of 12 uA, which can help minimize system power consumption. They are designed for applications such as telecom infrastructure, networking, server/storage, industrial and analog sequencing applications. The TPS386000 is available now in a 4-mm x 4-mm, 20-pin QFN package and is priced at $2.20 in quantities of 1,000.

Texas Instruments Inc. and Fullpower Technology Bring Advanced Motion Solutions to Portable Devices
