AT&T, Inc. filed an amended complaint in federal court in Atlanta demanding that Verizon immediately pull all of the ads that compare 3G coverage of the two companies. It claimed the Verizon commercials are misleading because viewers might be led to believe that AT&T doesn't have any coverage in the white spots on AT&T's 3G coverage map used in the ads. AT&T first filed suit about the issue last week. Verizon had said the lawsuit is without merit and it doesn't plan to change the maps.

Verizon Communications Inc. has expanded its FiOS TV service to more than 7,500 households in parts of Highspire Borough, Lower Swatara Township, Penbrook Borough, Steelton Borough, Susquehanna Township and Swatara Township, bringing consumers a wide array of programming, 129 high-definition (HD) channels, and more video on demand (VOD) and faster Internet speeds than old-fashioned cable TV.

Verizon Communications Inc. expanded its DSL-Enabled high speed internet service to 850 more West Virginia customers in Cabell, Fayette and Jackson counties. The company recently installed High Speed Internet equipment, based on digital subscriber line (DSL) technology, in the Boomer area of Fayette County; Barker's Ridge in Cabell County; and the Fairplains area of Jackson County. Verizon High Speed Internet service is delivered on a dedicated line from Verizon's central switching office to the customer's home or business and is backed by live, 24 x 7 customer service and technical support. Verizon's entry-level High Speed Internet service offers speeds of up to 1 mbps downstream and 384 kbps upstream. Consumers who want faster speed can order Verizon's offering of up to 3 mbps downstream and 768 kbps upstream. The up-to-3 mbps service delivers download speeds 50 times faster than dial-up.
