A strengthening won and production losses on account of the automaker's ongoing dispute with its union over the issue of weekend wages under new production schedules hurt profitability in the period despite a rise in sales. The company sold 653,361 vehicles in the quarter, up 2.7% year over year. The company provided sales guidance for the year 2013. For the year, the company maintains cautious expectations for 2013 and will focus on improving brand value and profitability. The company plans to sell 2.75 million units this year, up 1.5% year over year. The company expects its domestic sales to stay flat at 480,000 units, while overseas sales are expected to total 2.27 million units.
