Hubei Yihua Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. reported earnings results for the first half ended June 2014. The company reported that its net profit for the first half of 2014 slumped by 84% year on year to CNY 32.5 million, partly because of falling urea prices. Revenue in the first six months of 2014 rose by 12.8% year on year to CNY 9.4 billion, compared with CNY 8.3 billion in the same period in 2013. For the January to June period, the company produced 1.53 million tonnes of urea, 526,500 tonnes of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), and 664,500 tonnes of DAP.
