Wanda Commercial Properties (Group) Co., Limited announced unaudited consolidated earnings results for six months ended June 30, 2014. For the period, the company reported revenue of HKD 88,728,000, loss from operations of HKD 84,537,000, loss before tax of HKD 121,239,000, loss of HKD 74,948,000, loss attributable to owners of the parent company of HKD 57,803,000 or 1.3 cents diluted per share, compared to revenue of HKD 1,146,089,000, profit from operations of HKD 431,980,000, profit before tax of HKD 371,888,000, profit of HKD 211,520,000, profit attributable to owners of the parent company of HKD 204,288,000 or 2.3 cents diluted per share for the same period a year ago. The group acquired items of property, plant and equipment at a total cost of HKD 55,238,000 against HKD 414,000 last year. Revenue decrease was mainly due to i) the disposal of a subsidiary in June 2013, which generated revenue of approximately HKD 875.5 million for the six months ended June 30, 2013; ii) a decline in revenue from the sales of property in Fuzhou of approximately HKD 188.7 million due to a show down of the property sales market in Fuzhou. Revenue of HKD 26.7 million, HKD 53.6 million and HKD 8.4 million was derived from the sales of developed properties, property leasing and property management service for the six months ended June 30, 2014 respectively. The decrease in loss was mainly due to i) a net valuation loss on investment properties of approximately HKD 148.4 million for the six months ended June 30, 2014 as compared to a net valuation gain of approximately HKD 3.8 million for the six months ended June 30, 2013. The decline in fair value of the group's investment properties was mainly due to intensifying competition in commercial properties in the central business area of Fuzhou. ii) a decrease in gross profit of HKD 404.2 million due to the decrease in revenue from the sales of properties, which was partly set off by: iii) a decrease in income tax of approximately HKD 206.7 million, iv) an increase in other net income of approximately HKD 30.6 million, and v) a decrease in finance cost of HKD 23.4 million.
