According to news report, Sharp Corporation is planning to sell off Recurrent Energy, LLC for $321 million. It further added that Sharp is also planning to sell shareholdings in Toshiba Corporation and its building in Tokyo's high-rise Shinjuku ward. The company is in talks to sell off its stake, and is also planning for job cuts. According to people, seeking anonymity, Sharp is in talks with Foxconn Technology Company Limited for the same. The news repoer further added that Sharp is also planning to sell shareholdings in Toshiba Corporation and its building in Tokyo's high-rise Shinjuku ward. According to news report, Miyuki Nakayama, Sharp spokeswoman declined to comment. On September 25, 2012, Kyodo reported that harp wants to raise ¥38 billion from selling the plants. The report mentioned that Simon Hsing, spokesman for Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd., a Foxconn flagship, didn’t immediately answer to the calls seeking comments.

Foxconn Technology Company Limited has reportedly closed a plant in China early on September 24, 2012 after a massive brawl broke out among 2,000 of its workers at a company dormitory. A dispute between rival worker groups at the company dormitory on Sunday night escalated into a riot before security and local police brought the situation under control by 3 a.m. on September 24, 2012. The fight is said to have left about 40 people hospitalized, while some employees were arrested. Foxconn reported that it has halted production at the plant following the incident, but will resume activity at the plant on Tuesday. The company also noted that the dispute did not appear to be work-related.
