The company also provides commercial lending, asset based finance, and e-Payment solutions; wealth management services, including private banking, trust, linked deposit, and portfolio management services; and investment services comprising securities and futures trading, foreign exchange margin and option margin trading, and spot gold margin trading services, as well as derivative warrants/CBBC. In addition, it offers trustee, asset management, property investment, money lending, securities broking, and business consultancy services, as well as business, corporate, and investor services. As of March 17, 2014, the company operated a network of 240 outlets in Hong Kong and the rest of Greater China, Southeast Asia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The Bank of East Asia, Limited was incorporated in 1918 and is headquartered in Central, Hong Kong.

The bank of East Asia, Limited announced the appointments of Mr. Adrian David LI Man-kiu (‘Mr. Adrian Li’) and Mr. Brian David LI Man-bun (‘Mr. Brian Li’) as Executive Directors of the Bank with effect from August 2, 2014. Mr. Adrian Li and Mr. Brian Li are currently Deputy Chief Executives of the Bank. Mr. Adrian Li, MA (Cantab), MBA, LPC, JP, aged 40, joined the Bank in 2000 as General Manager & Head of Corporate Banking Division. In April 2009, he was appointed Deputy Chief Executive for Hong Kong Business, assisting the Chief Executive in the overall management and control of the Bank Group. Mr. Adrian Li is currently an Independent Non-executive Director of Sino Land Company Limited, Tsim Sha Tsui Properties Limited, Sino Hotels (Holdings) Limited, China State Construction International Holdings Limited, COSCO Pacific Limited and Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical (Group) Co., Ltd, and a Non-executive Director of The Berkeley Group Holdings plc (listed in London). Mr. Brian Li, MA (Cantab), joined the Bank Group in 2002. He was General Manager & Head of Wealth Management Division of the Bank from July 2004 to March 2009. The Directors of The Bank of East Asia, Limited declare an interim dividend of HKD 0.43 per share for the six months ended June 30, 2014. The 2014 Interim Dividend will be paid in cash with an option to receive new, fully paid shares in lieu of cash, to shareholders whose names appear on the Register of Members of the Bank at the close of business on August 21, 2014. The ex-dividend date for 2014 Interim Dividend will be on August 18, 2014.

The Bank of East Asia, Limited reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the six months ended June 30, 2014. For the period, the company reported interest income of HKD 13,684 million against HKD 11,915 million a year ago. Net interest income was HKD 6,241 million against HKD 5,664 million a year ago. Operating income was HKD 9,202 million against HKD 8,320 million a year ago. Profit for the period before taxation was HKD 4,482 million against HKD 4,386 million a year ago. Profit after taxation was HKD 3,632 million against HKD 3,430 million a year ago. Basic and diluted earnings per share were HKD 1.48 against HKD 1.43 a year ago. Net cash used in operating activities was HKD 38,827 million against HKD 51,644 million a year ago.
