Yuanta Financial Holdings Co., Ltd., through its subsidiaries, provides securities and investment services worldwide. The company offers securities financing and refinancing services to brokers and individual clients; commercial banking services, including consumer banking, corporate banking, wealth management, trust business, e-banking, credit card, and financial product services; securities brokerage, underwriting, derivatives, credit transactions, bonds, and stock transfer agency services; and futures and options services. In addition, the company offers futures, futures managers, futures consultant, securities, and securities trading assistance services; and property and life insurance agency services. As of December 31, 2011, it offered banking services through approximately 85 branches. The company was formerly known as Fuhwa Financial Holdings Co., Ltd. and changed its name to Yuanta Financial Holdings Co., Ltd. in 2007. Yuanta Financial Holdings Co., Ltd. was founded in 1980 and is based in Taipei, Taiwan.

New York Life Insurance Co. is in exclusive negotiations with Yuanta Financial Holding Co., Ltd. (TSEC:2885) to sell its Taiwan assets, reported Reuters citing two sources with close knowledge of the deal. The sources said that the size of the deal is not yet final and is subject to Taiwan regulatory approval. Sources also added that the deal size would be close to TWD 100 million. One of the sources said, "Their strategy is to exit Taiwan as soon as possible. They don't really care about how much money they will get. We just talked to them this month. They said they are negotiating with one potential buyer." Y. D. Chuang, spokesperson of Yuanta, declined to comment, while officials of New York Life's Taiwan unit were not immediately available for comment.
Yuanta Financial Holding Co., Ltd. reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the month and year to date ended April 2013. For the month, the company’s net income before tax was TWD 541 million and net income after tax attributable to parent company was TWD 447 million. For the year-to-date, the company’s net income before tax was TWD 2,568 million and net income after tax attributable to parent company of TWD 2,076 million or TWD 0.21 per share.
