Eaton Appoints Ingram Micro (Thailand) Ltd. as Distributor

Eaton appointed Ingram Micro (Thailand) as the authorised distributor of its products.

Eaton Unveils New Digital Educational Tool for Utility and Industrial Customers

Eaton announced its new digital educational tool for utility and industrial customers to optimize performance of aging equipment and reduce downtime. Created by Eaton equipment life extension and modernization experts, the Visual Instruction Book Essentials supplements traditional instruction manual information by providing visual, step-by-step training for circuit breaker maintenance and testing processes. The training manuals are available for circuit breakers found in common switchgear and generator assemblies. The Portable Document Format (PDF) manuals contain videos with step-by-step instructions and user interactive graphics designed to supplement circuit breaker instruction guides. These documents also contain three-dimensional models of product specific power replacement circuit breakers for detailed material information. The educational tool is part of Eaton's equipment life extension and modernization services, which support virtually every testing, maintenance and repair program.

Eaton Launches New SC9000 EP Medium-Voltage Drives

Eaton Corporation Plc has launched new SC9000 EP drives to expand its medium-voltage adjustable frequency drive solutions. The new Eaton SC9000 EP medium-voltage drives are engineered to help customers achieve energy savings in global oil and gas, mining, utility and water, and wastewater applications, while reducing downtime during routine maintenance through an encapsulated powerpole (EP) and modular inverter design. The powerpole inverter with heat pipe technology provides a high power density in a compact footprint, while enabling the SC9000 EP drive to withstand harsh environmental conditions. By incorporating a three-level neutral point clamped (NPC) inverter topology, the drive reduces the number of power switching devices in the inverter, improving reliability by cutting down on the overall components needed. The next generation of Eaton medium-voltage drives is also designed to help customers reduce costs, beyond driving energy efficiencies that lower utility bills. The SC9000 EP drives are engineered to enhance personnel safety during maintenance by incorporating a grounding stick to support safe access to the direct current (DC) bus and mechanical system interlocks. With less required cabling, the devices reduce the risk of failure at connection points with the motor and cable insulation.
